"Hygge is not a thing or something you buy... it is a state of mind."
Cold but Cozy
Copenhagen in December is cold, but the Danes know how to do cozy better than anyone else. This trip was all about Hygge. Nyhavn with its colorful buildings looked stunning even under the winter sky, and the Christmas markets were in full swing.
We rented bikes (when in Copenhagen!) and bundled up in scarves and coats to explore the city like locals.
Tivoli Gardens
The highlight was definitely Tivoli Gardens at night. It's an amusement park right in the city center, and it was completely illuminated with thousands of fairy lights. It felt like walking into a fairytale. We drank warm gløgg (mulled wine) to stay warm.
